“Manifattura Italiana Tabacco S.p.A” was born since the acquisition of the historical production unit of Chiaravalle (Ancona, Italy) founded in 1759 by Cistercian monks for the development of tobacco-growing in the Papal State and, subsequently, for the manufacture of tobacco products to the Kingdom of Italy and to the State Monopolies.
Through this take-over, MIT has inherited the attention to quality and care of the processes that represent the best expression of the history of tobacco in Italy.
Today MIT arises as the only entirely Italian company in the supply chain that manufactures cigarettes and shag tobacco made from the finest Italian tobacco, through updated production technology and quality control.
A conscious choice to continue to be active in the territory, maintaining its manufacturing excellence and developing new products.
Since 1759, we defend the quality of tobacco culture.
